another kind of love

For too long a time the heat of his heavy hands have been smoldering in the pockets of other people's business.
The toils of his physical labor have pushed him here; two decades past his life dreams,
too far from his ambitions to feel their heat.
They appear now as the faint glint of a star light years away.

I am his star.

For his sake I will hurtle my flames toward the earth,
ignite my surroundings, set the world ablaze.
His love will devour the dry earth,
char the soil,
prepare it for new growth.
As he basks in the warmth of my fire,
he will see the world sprout green and lush around him.
